Moses is quite a fascinating man precisely because of his imperfections. Despite his flaws and struggles such as his reluctance to speak publicly because of his stammer, his moments of doubt, and his failure to follow God’s instructions precisely at times he was chosen by God for an extraordinary purpose: to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and guide them toward the Promised Land.
This dynamic highlights a profound truth: God often uses imperfect people to accomplish great purposes. Like always using foolishness to us to confirm the wise. Moses’ story serves as a reminder that our shortcomings do not disqualify us from being used by God. Instead, they make us relatable to those we serve and point to God’s grace and power working through human weakness.
It also reflects the incredible patience and commitment of God to His mission, working through people with “issues” to bring about redemption, justice, and healing. What part of Moses’ story resonates most with you?
Moses, The Voice of Faith
Upon the sands of trembling earth, he stood,
A man of doubt, yet chosen for the good.
His staff, a branch of Heaven’s might,
To split the sea, to part the night. messenger with frail, human frame,
Called by the Lord, who knew his name.
Though speech came slow, his wisdom ran deep,
Guiding people from bondage to leap.
The Red Sea roared, its depths untamed,
But Moses stood, his faith proclaimed.
“Fear not,” he spoke, “the Lord makes a way,
Through storm and sea, to break this stay.”
Waters rose, walls of liquid glass,
A path emerged for the people to pass.
In spite of doubts, he led with grace,
Bearing God’s word to a weary race.
His flaws, the marks of a human soul,
Yet God’s strength made the broken whole.
Through Moses, a story forever told
Of faith, of courage, and hearts made bold.
